An elopement in Rome, K&T
Elopement and dolce vita
The concept of “dolce vita,” or “sweet life,” is closely associated with Rome. Coined in the 1960 film of the same name directed by Federico Fellini, it encapsulates a leisurely and indulgent lifestyle characterized by enjoying simple pleasures, good food, wine, and the company of friends and family. The term became synonymous with the carefree attitude and hedonistic pursuits prevalent in post-war Italy, particularly in cities like Rome.
In Rome, one can experience the dolce vita by strolling through cobblestone streets, savoring authentic Italian cuisine in quaint trattorias, sipping espresso in charming cafes, and admiring masterpieces in world-renowned museums and galleries. The city’s vibrant street life, historic landmarks such as the Colosseum, Pantheon, and Vatican City, along with its romantic ambiance, contribute to its allure as a place where one can truly immerse oneself in the art of living well.

An opportunity to capture the getting ready
These images serve as timeless reminders of the emotions felt on the day of their elopement, allowing them to relive those moments for years to come. Photographs of the getting ready process capture the raw emotions, excitement, and nervousness as the couple prepares to embark on this significant journey together. As photographer we like to tell the story and these photos contribute to telling the story of the elopement from start to finish. They add depth and context to the narrative by showing the anticipation and buildup leading to the momentous occasion. Then, if you don’t mind yet about this opportunity we encourage you to have a look on these photos and let’s imagine yours.
The “photo tour” start before the ceremony
Today we do the photo shoot before ceremony (even if we consider the getting ready is an important part of the reportage), as explained in the previous paragraph, if you want photos at Colosseum we have to come before the people and then early, specially if we do the ceremony in a different location. You can see the gorgeous light of the fresh morning.
Another important point, when we do photos we keep in mind what you will do with your photos: a book? a frame? as sais, we tell story and then one of the option is to make collage with several photos giving the idea of the context and evolution of the moment and related emotions.
Don’t think about one photo, think about the moment.
Ceremony at Roman forum
You can find it under several names like “Forum Vetus” or “Forum Magnus”. We like to do the ceremony there because a view is typical from the ancient Rome and really different. It’s not crowded and the balconies offers the right spots. Today our celebrant bring the flowers and meet the couple at the entrance in order to guide until the spot. As you can see, it’s also a part of the full story.

I would like to conclude with the poem read during the ceremony:
The One… by Cheryl Barclay
When the one whose hand you’re holding
Is the one who holds your heart
When the one whose eyes you gaze into
Gives your hopes and dreams their start,
When the one you think of first and last
Is the one who holds you tight,
And the things you plan together
Make the whole world seem just right,
When the one whom you believe in
puts their faith and trust in you,
You’ve found the one and only love
You’ll share your whole life through…
