CEREMONY IN TUSCANY
Tuscany is surrounded by extraordinary locations that date back centuries. From the medieval towers of San Gimignano to the rolling hills of Val d’Orcia, every corner of this region carries a story — and the most beautiful chapter could be yours.
Siena is one of the most romantic cities in all of Italy, its ancient piazzas and narrow stone streets offering an intimate and timeless atmosphere for your ceremony. Whether you choose a private estate in Chianti, a hilltop terrace overlooking the Tuscan countryside, or a secluded garden villa, each location becomes the perfect setting to celebrate your love privately and unforgettably.
QUICK ANSWERS
Tuscany is one of the most accessible regions in Italy. Florence Airport (FLR) receives direct flights from London, Paris, Amsterdam, and other major European hubs. Pisa Airport (PSA) — served by Ryanair, easyJet, and Vueling — has extensive connections from across Europe, with a direct train into Florence in under an hour. From Rome, Florence is 1h30 by high-speed Frecciarossa train. For southern Tuscany (Siena, Val d’Orcia, Calafuria), renting a car is strongly recommended — the most beautiful locations are not served by public transport.
Late spring (May–June) and early autumn (September–October) are the sweet spots. Temperatures are comfortable (18–26°C), the light is golden and soft, and the countryside is at its most photogenic — green and lush in spring, warm and golden in autumn. July and August are beautiful but hot, particularly inland around Siena and the Val d’Orcia, where midday temperatures regularly exceed 35°C. Spring is exceptional for the Gladiator Hills area, where the cypress-lined roads are surrounded by green wheat fields. Autumn is ideal for harvest season landscapes around Montalcino and Montepulciano.
Tuscany offers one of the most iconic and emotionally resonant landscapes in the world — rolling hills dotted with cypress trees, medieval hilltop villages, Renaissance cities, and a coastline that most couples never even know exists. What sets it apart is the sheer variety of free, accessible locations: the cypress-lined road at Gladiator Hills, the unspoiled village of Monticchiello, Fiesole’s panorama above Florence, Siena’s medieval skyline, Lucca’s public garden within its Renaissance walls, and the dramatic clifftop at Calafuria above the Boccale Castle. Add world-class wine, exceptional food, and a deeply rooted sense of beauty, and Tuscany becomes a destination that works for every kind of couple.
Tuscany wedding packages start at €2,870 for the Basic package, which includes a ceremony for up to 20 guests at iconic public locations, 3 hours of photography, and round-trip transportation for the couple. Our popular Silver package costs €5,060 and adds 3 hours of videography and professional hair & makeup.
The Gold package (€7,150) offers exclusive use of a private villa for the ceremony and includes a gourmet picnic with local food and drinks for 2, along with a violinist. For a full celebration, our Diamond package (€9,840) includes wedding planning, a cocktail hour, and a dinner reception at a private villa. Our most exclusive Infinity package starts at €10,100 and features a one-night stay at a premier estate with full food and beverage service for the couple. Note: Final prices depend heavily on your guest count and the specific villa or estate selection (venue rental fees vary). Most couples choose the Gold or Diamond packages to enjoy the authentic “Villa life” that makes Tuscany so world-famous!

Tuscany offers world-class experiences for wedding guests. Cultural: Florence (Uffizi, Accademia, Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio), Siena (Piazza del Campo, medieval walls), Lucca (Renaissance walls walkable by bike), San Gimignano (medieval towers), Pienza (ideal Renaissance town in the Val d’Orcia). Wine and food: Chianti wine road between Florence and Siena, Brunello tastings in Montalcino, truffle hunting near San Miniato, cooking classes in the Chianti countryside. Coast: the Calafuria area near Livorno, the Etruscan Coast south towards Piombino, and the island of Elba accessible by ferry (1 hour). Thermal baths: Bagno Vignoni and Saturnia, both within the Val d’Orcia area.
Tuscany has a classic Mediterranean climate with distinct seasons. Spring (April–May) brings mild temperatures (15–22°C), blooming wildflowers, and green countryside — ideal for the Val d’Orcia and hilltop village ceremonies. Early summer (June) is warm and dry, with long golden evenings. July and August are hot inland (30–38°C), and crowds peak at major tourist sites. September and October are exceptional — harvest season, warm temperatures (20–27°C), and softer light. Winter is quiet and atmospheric, especially in the hilltop villages, with occasional frost inland but rarely extreme cold on the coast.
Tuscany offers a remarkable range of free, publicly accessible locations. The Val d’Orcia is home to some of the region’s most iconic scenery — the medieval village of Monticchiello, and the famous cypress-lined road at Gladiator Hills, one of the most photographed landscapes in Italy. Fiesole, perched on a hillside above Florence, offers a sweeping panorama over the Arno valley and the city’s rooftops. Siena’s viewpoints deliver one of Italy’s most dramatic medieval skylines, with the Torre del Mangia rising above a sea of terracotta. Lucca’s public garden provides a shaded, elegant setting within the Renaissance city walls. And for couples drawn to the sea, Calafuria near Livorno offers clifftop drama above the Boccale Castle, with views stretching to the islands of Capraia and Corsica on clear days.
Yes. Tuscany is one of our most popular elopement destinations — and for good reason. Whether you picture yourselves alone on the famous cypress-lined road at Gladiator Hills in the Val d’Orcia, on a panoramic terrace above Florence in Fiesole, or in the medieval village of Monticchiello, our Tuscan coordinator Bibiana arranges intimate symbolic ceremonies with a professional officiant who crafts personalised vows for your moment. Elopement packages in Tuscany start from €2,870, including ceremony, 3 hours of photography, and round-trip transportation.

OUR MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR TUSCANY CEREMONIES
more general questions here
Yes, videography is included from the Silver package (3 hours) and above. Gold and Diamond include 5-hour videography; Infinity includes 8-hour videography. Our videographers capture ceremony audio and personalised vows, cinematic footage of Tuscany’s landscapes — cypress roads at Gladiator Hills, hilltop villages, the Calafuria coastline — couple portraits and guest moments, and a fully edited film delivered after your ceremony. Videography can also be added as an option to the Basic package — ask Bibiana for current pricing.
A mix depending on your package. Free public locations (Basic and Silver): Fiesole viewpoints, Monticchiello village, Gladiator Hills cypress road, Siena viewpoints, Lucca public garden, and Calafuria clifftop are all publicly accessible with no venue fee — other visitors may occasionally be present, though these locations are chosen for their relative tranquility outside peak tourist hours. Private locations (Gold, Diamond, Infinity): exclusive villa or estate with full venue use — no other visitors, full privacy for your ceremony and reception.
Yes. All packages accommodate guests. Free public locations — Fiesole, Monticchiello, Gladiator Hills, Siena viewpoint, Lucca garden, Calafuria — comfortably accommodate small groups of up to 20 guests. Private villas (Gold and above) accommodate 20 or more guests with full venue hire. Diamond and Infinity packages are specifically designed for groups of 20+, with cocktail hour and dinner reception included. For intimate elopements with just the two of you, all our free locations work beautifully with only your photographer and officiant present.
Absolutely. Italy recognises same-sex civil unions, and Tuscany is one of the most welcoming and progressive regions in the country — Florence in particular has a long history of LGBTQ+ inclusivity. Our symbolic ceremonies celebrate all love equally with no restrictions. Bibiana, our Tuscany coordinator, works with all couples regardless of background and ensures a fully personalised, affirming ceremony experience at any of our locations.
We recommend booking 4–6 months in advance for optimal availability, especially for peak season (May–October) and private villa locations (Gold, Diamond, Infinity packages). For free public locations, 2–3 months is often sufficient outside peak season. However, we’ve successfully organised elopements with as little as 3–4 weeks’ notice when dates are available. The Val d’Orcia and Fiesole locations are particularly in demand May–June and September–October — early booking is strongly advised for those periods.
Depends on your priorities. Basic (€2,870): ceremony + 3-hour photography + transportation — perfect for couples wanting an intimate elopement at a free iconic location. Silver (€5,060): adds 3-hour videography + hair & makeup — ideal if you want a complete visual record of your day at a free public location. Gold (€7,150): moves to an exclusive private villa + 5-hour photography and videography + violinist — right if privacy and a dedicated venue matter to you. Diamond (€9,840): full wedding day with food, cocktail hour, dinner reception and full coordination. Infinity (€10,100): the ultimate experience at a premier estate for groups of 20+ who want an exceptional full-day celebration.
Tuscany offers world-class experiences for wedding guests. Cultural: Florence (Uffizi, Accademia, Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio), Siena (Piazza del Campo, medieval walls), Lucca (Renaissance walls walkable by bike), San Gimignano (medieval towers), Pienza (ideal Renaissance town in the Val d’Orcia). Wine and food: Chianti wine road between Florence and Siena, Brunello tastings in Montalcino, truffle hunting near San Miniato, cooking classes in the Chianti countryside. Coast: the Calafuria area near Livorno, the Etruscan Coast south towards Piombino, and the island of Elba accessible by ferry (1 hour). Thermal baths: Bagno Vignoni and Saturnia, both within the Val d’Orcia area.
Yes — the famous cypress-lined road at Gladiator Hills in the Val d’Orcia is one of our most requested free locations. Made internationally famous as the opening sequence of Ridley Scott’s Gladiator, the site features a row of tall cypress trees standing in perfect formation against open Tuscan sky. It’s a public landscape, so ceremonies are intimate and unencumbered. Best light: early morning or golden hour (1–2 hours before sunset). Spring (May–June) is ideal when the surrounding wheat fields are green. Autumn (September–October) turns the landscape warm gold. We recommend combining Gladiator Hills with nearby Monticchiello village for a full Val d’Orcia experience.
Yes — from the Gold package (from €7,150) onwards, ceremonies take place at exclusive private villas with full venue use. These are working Tuscan estates — vineyard properties, restored farmhouses with olive groves, hilltop properties with panoramic views over the countryside. Food and beverage are not included at Gold level but can be arranged independently. The Diamond and Infinity packages include private estates with full food & beverage service, cocktail hour, and dinner reception — a complete wedding day experience on private Tuscan grounds.

WHERE TO GET MARRIED IN TUSCANY ?
Free locations

Acouple kissing in front of San Gimignano medieval towers
Fiesole
Perched on a hillside above Florence, Fiesole offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas in all of Tuscany — terracotta rooftops, the Arno valley, and the Duomo shimmering in the distance. This ancient Etruscan town feels worlds away from the city below, yet it’s just a short drive from the centre. For couples who want the magic of Florence without the crowds, Fiesole is an effortless choice.
Monticchiello
One of the most unspoiled villages in the Val d’Orcia, Monticchiello sits quietly behind its medieval walls, surrounded by rolling wheat fields and silvery olive groves. It sees a fraction of the visitors that flock to nearby Pienza or Montepulciano, which means you’ll have the cobbled lanes and golden-stone archways almost to yourselves. A beautiful backdrop for an intimate ceremony with no distractions.
Gladiator Hills — Cypress Trees
Made famous by one of cinema’s most iconic openings, the cypress-lined road at Gladiator Hills in the Val d’Orcia is a landscape that feels almost mythological. Those tall, slender trees standing in perfect rows against an open sky have become one of Tuscany’s defining images — and standing among them for your ceremony is an experience unlike anything else in the region.
Lucca — Public Garden
Lucca may be the most liveable city in Tuscany, and its public gardens reflect that unhurried, human-scale charm. Shaded by centuries-old trees and framed by the Renaissance walls that still encircle the city, these green spaces offer a calm, elegant setting for a ceremony. There’s something genuinely local about Lucca — less theatrical than Florence or Siena, but deeply, quietly beautiful.
Calafuria — Cliff Above Boccale Castle
Just south of Livorno, the Calafuria coastline is one of Tuscany’s best-kept secrets. Rocky cliffs drop into a clear, deep blue sea, and from the promontory above Boccale Castle — a striking 19th-century tower built directly into the rock — the views stretch across the Tyrrhenian to the islands of Capraia and Corsica on a clear day. For couples who want the drama of the sea rather than the hills, this is an exceptional alternative.
Siena — Viewpoint Overlooking the City
Siena’s medieval skyline, dominated by the Torre del Mangia and the striped marble of the Duomo, is one of the most recognisable in Italy. From the viewpoints just beyond the city walls, you get the full sweep of it — terracotta and stone, church towers and palazzo rooftops — with the rolling hills of the Crete Senesi stretching out behind. A setting that’s equal parts grand and romantic.
